Iron Horse Golf Club

Iron Horse Golf Club offers a private 18 hole golf course that will challenge golfers of all skill levels. The course is located in the beautiful city of Milton only minutes away from GA 400 in the North East outskirts of Atlanta. The Iron Horse Golf course is a par 72 Michael Riley design, that plays nearly 7,000 yards from the back tee. Featuring undulating greens, tee shots that you must pay attention to, and challenging approach shots.

“No two holes are alike and most importantly there are no weak holes. All eighteen holes are unique and challenging. Definitely one of the best layouts in the city.”

Academy Director, Don Peterson

This course, built on rolling terrain, features a mixture of hardwood and pine trees lining its narrow fairways. No blind shots are required, and the greens are gently rolling and medium-sized. Water hazards (lakes, creeks, ponds, and streams) come into play on twelve holes. The signature hole is #17, a par 4, requiring a tee shot from an elevated tee, then an approach shot over water to an island green.

Gold tees: par-70, 6,894 yards, course rating 73.4, slope rating 143.

Black tees: par-70, 6,689 yards, course rating 72.5, slope rating 140.

Beaver Dam Farms History - Kenny Rogers

Beaver Dam Farms was a 973-acre estate located in Jefferson, Georgia, which was owned by country music legend Kenny Rogers until his passing in 2020.

The estate was named after the beaver dams that Rogers discovered on the property when he first visited it. Over the years, Rogers developed the property into a working farm and a premier event venue, hosting weddings, corporate events, and other gatherings.

In addition to its event spaces, Beaver Dam Farms featured a golf course, a lake for fishing and boating, and a number of lodging options, including cabins and a guest house. The estate also included a replica of a Western town, which Rogers built as a tribute to his love of Western movies.

After Kenny Rogers passed away, the estate was put up for sale. While it is no longer owned by Rogers or his family, Beaver Dam Farms remains a unique and storied property in the Athens, GA area.
